A hardware informant known as momomo_us recently released information regarding five new Gigabyte motherboards targeting the mainstream market on X. This collection includes three models from the Aorus brand, which caters to gamers, as well as two models under the Gigabyte name. Additionally, another source has uncovered pricing details for some of these products.

The models that were showcased include the B850 Aorus Elite WIFI7, available in black and white, the B850I Aorus Pro, the B850 Eagle WIFI6E, and the B850 Gaming WIFI5. All the mentioned motherboards come equipped with WiFi connectivity, varying between WiFi 5 and WiFi 7, although specific details regarding their specifications are yet to be disclosed. These listings originated from an international Amazon store, so it's important to factor in value-added tax when considering prices. The release is expected on January 6.

Among the new offerings, the B850 Gaming WiFi 6 is the most economical at a price of $240. The B850 Eagle WiFi 6E is priced at $255, while the B850 Aorus Elite WiFi 7 and B850 Aorus Elite WiFi 7 Ice carry a price tag of $308 each.

AMD has reportedly staggered the release of its 800-series motherboards. Initially, only the premium X870 and X870E models were available alongside the Ryzen 9000 series processors. It has been suggested that the B840 and B850 motherboards will now launch in early 2025, making the recent leaks surrounding the B850 quite plausible.

Alongside these developments from Gigabyte, Asus is said to be readying the launch of eight B850 chipset-powered models and three B840 chipset motherboards aimed at system integrators and commercial users. Both sets of motherboards will coincide with budget Intel motherboard releases, all falling under the 800-series classification. Their launch is anticipated to align with the introduction of more budget-friendly Ryzen 9000 and Intel Core 200S processors at CES 2025.

If you're looking to upgrade to a new motherboard without spending excessively, you might consider utilizing an older B650 motherboard and updating its BIOS to accommodate the newer processors. With the advent of the B850 and B840 motherboards, building a mid-range setup with the latest innovations from AMD is feasible, maximizing the performance of your Ryzen 9000 chip. Even for those opting for high-end processors like the Ryzen 9800X3D, it may not be necessary to invest heavily in a premium X870 or X870E motherboard, especially if those enhanced features won’t be utilized.
